New Peony garden celebrates fruitful partnership
03 May, 2019
A new Peony garden has been launched as the first stage of the planned Chinese Culture Garden.
To celebrate the launch there will be a Peony Study Day on Sunday May 12 at the University of Bristol Botanic Garden, Stoke Park Road, Stoke Bishop from 10am to 4pm.
The study day includes talks and tours of the gardens.
Chief Executive of the Bristol and West of England China Bureau Dianne Francombe said: “The Peony garden celebrates the fruitful partnership between the University of Bristol, The Register of Chinese Herbal Medicine and the Bristol China Bureau as founders of the Chinese Culture garden and is the latest extension of the Chinese Herb Garden which was constructed in 2000.
“Although relatively small in size, the new Peony Garden makes up for this in terms of collaboration and knowledge.
“This year the peonies are already well ahead in terms of flowering, and we hope that they will still be in flower on the study day.”
