Martin Powell has been advising on public relations and carrying out publicity campaigns for a wide range of national and regional businesses, and organisations since 1989 and is now sharing his expertise with BCP.
He is Managing Director of Empica, based in North Somerset, who have a wide range of clients in a variety of sectors, including property, charities, restaurants, power industry, professional services and tourist attractions.
A Member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, Martin lectures on handling the media on the Ashridge Management Training College MBA and has provided practical media training for a wide range of international clients, including banks, public bodies, large manufacturers and pharmaceutical companies. He holds National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ) qualifications.
His public relations experience covers most sectors and he has been involved in high level management of the media in crisis situations, including many nationally covered stories.
He was Chief Reporter of the Evening Post in Bristol in the 1980s and has held political correspondent, local government and transport correspondent posts on regional newspapers.
He is a published author and is also one of the directors and owners of Bristol Books Community Interest Company, which launched in 2012 with the first ever biography of West Country singer Adge Cutler, founder of the Wurzels.
