Exporting education and training services to China will be in the spotlight at the latest Bristol and West of England China Partnership Pow Wow in April.

Hosted by Burges Salmon, the popular networking event will be attended by Universities, Colleges and Training suppliers as well as businesses with an interest in trading with China.

Donna Whitehead, Pro Vice-Chancellor and Executive Dean, Faculty of Business and Law, UWE will provide an education-based case study. 

Philip Beer and Mervyn Seet from Burges Salmon will explore the firm’s links and visits to China as well as a brief overview of their work in the education sector.

Philip Beer said: “It’s great to see an increasing number of links being forged between South West businesses and China. More businesses are set to benefit from this strengthening bond, helped particularly by events such as this focusing on exporting education and training services to China.”

The April Pow Wow will be held at One Glass Wharf in Bristol on Thursday April 6 from 6pm-8.30pm.

Richard Lowe, Director of Training & Digital Learning Services for Hewlett Rand will outline experience exporting digital learning to Hong Kong.

He said: ‘It’s important that consultants and providers consider the market carefully and plan for the long term.”

Dianne Francombe, CEO added: “We’re aiming to reach out to Universities, colleges and training providers with a view to strengthening greater links with China. The event will cover the advantages of firms and establishments exporting Education & Training to China. 

“The West of England has a number of major universities and centres of excellence which attract students from China and have great expertise to draw upon.”

The Informal networking events provide a great opportunity to discover more about exporting to China, to share experiences and meet fellow China enthusiasts over drinks and canapés.
